About Calcium Carbonate Powder
Calcium carbonate is a chemical compound with the formula CaCO3. It is a common substance found in rocks and minerals, and is the main component of eggshells, seashells, and pearls. Calcium carbonate is used in a variety of industries, including construction, food and pharmaceuticals, and paper and pulp. It is used as a filler and coating agent in paper and as an additive in food products, such as baked goods and toothpaste. In construction, it is used as a building material and as a neutralizer in acid rain. Chemical Formula : CaCO3Application
Healthcare : Medicinally, it is used as an antacid or as a calcium supplement. Calcium carbonate is a dietary supplement used when the amount of calcium taken in the diet is not enough. Calcium is needed by the body for healthy bones, muscles, nervous system, and heart. Calcium carbonate also is used as an antacid to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach. It is also used as filler in cosmetics. It is added to swimming pools as a disinfectant agent and a pH corrector.Industrial Uses : Calcium metal is used as a reducing agent in preparing other metals such as Thorium and Uranium. It is also used as an alloying agent for Aluminum, Beryllium, Copper, Lead and Magnesium Alloys. As an additive in plastic compounds, CaCO3 helps decrease surface energy and provides opacity and surface gloss, which improves surface finish. In addition, when the particle size is carefully controlled, CaCO3 helps increase both impact strength and flexural modulus (stiffness). PH value : 9.91
